British Waterways operates some of the best still water fisheries in the country now with the Makin complex under its belt fishermen cannot ask for more. The fishery has a total of 18 Lakes and Imitation Canals and is located in the centre of England close to the motorway network, just 5 minutes from junction 1 of the M69. Just turn up and start fishing and the bailiffs will be around. The gates open at 07:00 and close 1 hour after dusk. The fishery was constructed in Three Stages, each of the three phases has its own Entrance and Car Park. Phase 1 has 5 Lakes, Phase 2 has 7 Lakes and Phase 3 has 6 Lakes giving a total of over 500 pegs. There is something for everyone from the Beginner to the serious Match or Specimen Angler. Four of the largest lakes are reserved exclusively for the Pleasure Angler were you can catch Carp to 30lb or Barbel up to 14lb, with a good head of Bream, Chub & Tench. With on-site toilets & disabled access this day ticket fishery is in a league by it’s self. Free Leaflets are available from 01827 252000 |
