 Just two miles from the historic town of Battle where the famous Battle of Hastings was fought in 1066 Wyland International Angling Centre has been voted amongst the top 100 day ticket waters in the UK by the national angling press. Wyland features 50 acres of water, woodland and pasture in a 154 acre rural backdrop and offers four specialist carp lakes, five multi-species venues and the largest match venue in the country at over two miles long with 205 pegs. Wyland offers sport for anglers at every level from tiddler snatching to specimen hunting, with day tickets, season tickets and night fishing available. There is also a lakeside snack bar, picnic area and  miles of beautiful woodland walks for families to enjoy. We even have a stock lake used to bring on fry that offers great views of wildlife like dragonflies and waterfowl. Attracting celebrity anglers since its opening in the 70s visitors to Wyland include Andy Little from Angler’s Mail. Sky TV’s Keith Arthur, former World Champion Bob Nudd and ‘A Passion for Angling’ star Chris Yates. The match fishing at Wyland is first class, the complex having hosted the National Police Championships, the European Police Championships and the Sainsbury’s National Angling Championships.

The Lakes  The two acre Old Specimen Lake is a hauling venue with thumping bags of carp from 1-2 lb, although 20-pounders have been caught. Nets to 70 lb are commonplace and sport is very straightforward. A recent introduction of tench has added variety and winter sport is brisk with nets of roach, rudd and perch. At the other end of the scale New Specimen Lake at two acres with a central island is more challenging with carp to 28 lb and lots of double-figure fish plus barbel that have grown to an amazing 14 lb-plus. The roach also run to 2 lb 8 oz. Kell Lake is another big fish venue, the most prolific venue on the complex for 10 lb-plus carp it is  estimated to hold 40-50 double-figure carp to a lake record of 30 lb 4 oz, with any carp under 12 lb being regularly removed. Kell also holds perch to 3lb 8 oz and bream to 8 lb. Considered the best all-round venue on the complex Middle Lake produces well all year, and holds carp to 26 lb, bream and tench to 9 lb, perch to 4 lb, and even a six inch long gudgeon that was caught without the angler realising its potential record status! House Lake is an enlarged farm pond of 1.5 acres holding tench to 8 lb and bream to 5 lb plus skimmers, perch and 250 barbel. The carp feed enthusiastically on the surface and run to 25 lb,  making five venues at Wyland containing 20s Perfect for beginners and traditionalists Rosie’s Lake offers mixed sport with exotic carp, tench, bream, roach, rudd, perch, barbel, chub and crucians. No bite alarms or night fishing are allowed, it’s pole, waggler or feeder only. Field Lake was the original match lake at Wyland it’s now termed the dad’s and lads venue heavily stocked with carp to 3 lb and tench to 2 lb 8 oz with bites often one a chuck making it ideal to teach beginners and youngsters. The Snake Match Lake is available for open matches and club bookings and has become renowned as a first class match venue, the largest in the country at 205 pegs and with a match record of a staggering 197 lb. |

FISHERY RULES: In the interest of consideration towards fellow anglers and the conversation of our precious wildlife habitat, all visitors arerespectfully asked to observe the following regulations whilst at Wylands:
No fishing without a national fishing licence No fish to be removed from the centre No barbed hooks No keepnets (except in booked matches) No nuts or excessive use of any groundbait No fish to be lifted above knee height No fish to be kept in carp sacks No noise or running about on the banks No unattended fishing gear to be left in swims No rubbish to be left in the swims when you leave No discarded line or litter No dogs unless kept on a lead at all times No cars left in other than official areas No weapons of any sort No picking of wildflowers or removal of plants No dirt track riding on motor or other cycles No speed in excess of 5mph on farm tracks No swimming No radios No model boats No open fires No barbecues without prior permission No climbing over farm fences and gates No trespassing in farm buildings
Always use unhooking mats, dip your nets and weigh slings in tubs provided Bait Bans
NUTS, PEAS, BEANS, BLOOD WORM, JOKER, TROUT OR POND PELLETS, FISHMEAL-BASED GROUNDBAIT, TROUT PELLET-BASED GROUNDBAIT, FISHMEAL-BASED BOILIES.
Swim Stim Koi Pellets and Groundbait are allowed.
