Broom Fisheries, a member of Premier FisheriesFishery Details:
The Broom offers over 100 generously spaced coarse pegs on several waters nestled in a 200 acre rural estate. The present landowners, John Wright and Carole Lloyd, have spent more than 15 years nurturing the environment and the fish to create an angling experience with a natural feel.
The Broom management team are committed to encouraging new anglers of all ages, and are heavily involved in establishing the ‘Get Hooked’ initiative into this area. Get Hooked is the national charitable trust that utilises angling to create alternative activities for all young people - particularly those at risk from various forms of social exclusion. We welcome bookings from clubs too, and if you have a favourite charity you want to assist, contact us and we can help you to run a fundraising competition. Last year we helped to raise funds for several charities, including Macmillan Cancer Support (£7,500 in one day!), Scottish Alzheimer’s, and the BBC children in need appeal. The Broom angling experience is a lot more than just water, great scenery, and an abundance of fish. Other facilities that help to ensure that visitors return time and time again include: A fisherman’s bothy housing a fully equipped cafe Fully plumbed toilets Ample car parking Disabled access A well stocked tackle and bait shop with over 5,000 items Tuition and advice. Our on-line mail order service helps visitors from afar to keep in touch too, and we deliver all of your tackle requirements directly to your door, often without the addition of carriage charges, and often within 24 hours! If you want to stay for a while, ask us about our weekend fishing breaks, which include affordable bed & breakfast at the local fishermen friendly Queensberry Arms Hotel, fishing tickets, and bait voucher. 8:00am to sunset
